Harbour Town

August 3

My friend Panda and I went to Harbour Town today to do some shopping. Well, I was going to window shop, but I ended up buying WAY too much stuff :(:(. List:

1) Thigh high socks
2) Leg warmers
3) Jump rope
4) Yoga/Exercise mat
5) Awesome going out dress
6) Casual summer dress
7) Book
8) Bookmark
9) Sweater

We tried to find pointy dress shoes for Panda and found some that were really nice, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted those particular ones so we left them. He also got other cool stuff, but I don’t think he wants me to report on his purchases :P

GHD Stylers, Bars, and Adventures

June 22

Updates updates updates. I was so tired once weekend came around that all I wanted to do was lay around and sleep. Except first, I wanted to go to this awesome bar and unfortunately that didn’t work out due to stupid bus schedules and time difficulties :( This has got to be like the 4th or 5th time in a row that I’ve missed going to this particular place and it sucks.

Last night HHRay’s family and I went to Paddo’s and I loved it. The Cheeky Monkeys were playing, it was the first time I’d ever heard them, and they were awesome. Unfortunately HHRay absolutely hated it there so the two of us left early – it was a bit of an adventure getting back to HHRay’s using public transport, though. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say it involves being lost, public urination, freezing, and taxis.

I definitely want to go back there again one day, though – the atmosphere at this place was totally different from a normal club. People are a bit older therefore more mature – everyone’s having a grand time, smiles at everyone else, it’s a really homey atmosphere. Oh and when you try to squeeze through the crowd people actually move aside for you unlike in a club – where everyone bumps into you as if on fricking purpose (it’s a huge pet peeve of mine).

I did something very bad – I invested in a GHD hair styler. I had a choice – either the Pure white styler from the limited edition line or the Dark black one – I went for black because I had read that the white one rusts easily and such. I thought HHRay would kill me when I told him – and for a minute there it really seemed like he would. But then he saw how happy I was with my $319 impulse purchase and his heart melted a little (I hope he doesn’t read this because if he finds out the actual price of this thing his heart will freeze up again like an icicle and I’ll really be in trouble then).

I slept for most of the day today and feel almost fully rested now. I think I’m ready to go back to work tomorrow, just need to make sure that I get a good night’s sleep tonight.

In the Market for a Graphic Tablet

January 20

I am in the market for a graphic tablet. My scanner drivers do not support Vista. Not only that, but scanning before coloring is so amazingly time-wasting. Even when I was able to use the scanner, I had pages and pages of line art all around my desk. I realize a tablet will take some getting used to, but am positive that it will be a nice step up in both my drawings and my photo manipulations. I had my sights on a Wacom Bamboo Fun, but it only has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity when I could get one with 1024 or something along those lines for less on ebay. Seeing as I haven’t done much research into the whole thing yet, I have no idea if I’ll even notice the difference. Seems pretty obvious that I would, but most of the reviews of the Bamboo Fun which I’ve read are great. I just don’t know if I can get something a bit more advanced for the same price on e-bay. I don’t want to buy anything second hand, but I know I’ll be buying online. It’s just cheaper that way.

I Missed out on Coupons

December 9

My two favorite notebook brands have got to be Dell and HP. I’m beating myself up a bit over not looking for enough Dell coupons when purchasing my notebook computer. Turns out there are so many different discounts to be found for Dell and HP both in Australia and the U.S. There are sites that are dedicated to providing free coupons to visitors. There’s sites like eDealFinder that currently have quite a few HP coupon codes available online. The cool thing is they’re constantly adding more as offers expire. Dell and HP products aren’t really expensive to begin with, imagine how much money I could have saved if I got another $300 or so off of my computer. HP coupon codes aren’t nearly as hard to come by as I imagined they would be and I really missed out on some savings at a time when money was (and still is) short. Rest assured that I won’t make the same mistake twice. Turns out computers don’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

Tips on finding great coupons:

1) Google, Google, Google - You’re bound to find some excellent discounts doing a simple Google search.
2) Keep your country in mind - Remember that when purchasing items online, a code that works in one country may not be suitable for another. For example, you can’t use a U.S. Dell coupon code when purchasing a PC from the Australian Dell site.
3) Bookmark Sites – When you find a great coupon site like eDealFinder, don’t just grab your coupon code and leave. Bookmark the site or add it to your favorites; new coupons are always popping up.

Happy coupon searching :)
