Writing Reports is Crap. Get Someone Else to Help ;)

May 14

Boy, do I wish I knew about these types of sites when I was in school. Amid hours and hours of sitting behind the computer writing reports, I never once thought that there exist writing services to assist us with our work. I can only imagine how much time and sleepless nights I’d be saving.

Writing-Services.org is one such writing service site. Their website looks clean and professional. We all know there’s enough scams out there to require being careful with purchasing any product or service online. The only thing that looks a bit fishy to me is the lack of active links – there are only three links on the left hand sidebar that are actually active! I am unsure of whether or not the website is simply in progress of being built, but I wouldn’t recommend putting such an unfinished web site online – it may cause people to worry about the legitimacy of the service. I would also have liked to see the top navigation bar with various services actually linking to their respectful sections.

Other than that, the testimonials of past clients sound satisfied enough and the service itself is definitely intriguing. I love how detailed the order form is and wonder if all writing services are this detailed – this type of service writing must ensure that the work is exactly on target to what the client needs. If one little bit is off, the project cannot be considered complete. The order form requests a detailed assignment description, including the client’s major, type of assignment, topic, citation style, number of sources, etc.

I feel like beating my head against the wall as we speak for not finding something like this when I was back in school. Would’ve saved me from a lot of sleepless nights, that’s for sure.

Boredom

March 28

I’m at TAFE, photoshopping a creased and ripped photograph of an old couple, making their faces more aesthetically pleasing, and placing them on top of a relevant background. At least that’s what I’m meant to be doing. I’m here instead, writing about it. I’d better get back at it :(

TAFE is CLOSED

March 3

My arms are killing me. I can barely lift them past my waist >.<

Anyway, today is a public holiday, but, after consulting HHRay, we concluded that, like uni, TAFE would be open and classes would be running…oh how wrong we were. Imagine my surprise when I show up at TAFE at 10:30, on time for my first class of the day, and find the place utterly deserted! So I went home. And now I’m here. Whining about my arms :)

Crap Crap Crap

February 18

I should be doing it. I should be doing it. I should be doing it.

But I’m not.

Right at this moment what I’m meant to be doing is finishing an assignment for tomorrow’s Color Theory class. But guess what? I do not have the dedication, nor the will, to finish it. I’ve done more than half and now I’m pooped and desperate. I’m not doing this. Oh crap I’m gonna fail. Oh crap.

Time to get to work.

TAFE Gym Fees

February 11

Monday is going to be the longest day of the week for me. The three hour break between classes wasn’t so bad today as some of us went to the city to window shop – I couldn’t resist buying a little purple number and some much needed new flats – the other ones were killing my feet. Literally!

We also stopped by the TAFE gym and I must say, I was impressed. I was even more impressed when I read that the membership fee for one year was $45. Unfortunately it was later revealed to us that the membership fee of $45 is only for the personal assessment and training program that is on offer – the actual visits are rather expensive – $10 a pop or $45 for 10! I don’t know how cheap this is compared to other gyms, but I wasn’t quite ready to fork out that amount – the membership PLUS the actual visit fee. It just makes no sense to me. Why can’t the personal assessment and training program be optional? Or maybe it is…I’ll have to inquire about this tomorrow. Anyway, I might as well just get myself one of those huge gerbil wheels and do a home gerbil workout. I wonder if those have been invented yet. If not, they ought to be.

Also, the thing I was waiting for came in to the post office today. I still can’t tell you what it is, but it’s good. I’m picking it up tomorrow after TAFE.

First Week of TAFE

February 7

I’m sick and watching The Biggest Loser as I type this. I have no voice, just woke up from several hours of sleep, and my throat feels as if there’s a lump the size of a mango in it.

I figure this is a good time to sit and talk about my first week at TAFE. It was pretty good, except on Monday I have a 3 hour break before my next class, meaning I have to bum around Perth for three hours. I’m already learning new things that I didn’t know before and already have a research assignment to do about Typography >.< Which I think I’ll start right after I finish this post.

It rained all day today and just eased up a couple of hours ago. I love rain, it’s great for cuddling, but I think that’s what made me ill in the first place – the window was open,  I think.

Watched Stardust yesterday. It was great (but maybe a bit too long)

Also, I’m excited. I’m expecting two shipments of different products any day and I can’t talk about any of them on here. I’ll eventually post about one of them, but probably not the other :) Can’t wait.

TAFE Orientation – impressed

January 30

My orientation for Cert IV Graphic Design at TAFE was today. Let’s just say I’m looking forward to the course and dreading it at the same time. I have 2 classes every weekday except Tuesday, on which I have one 3 and a half hour class and Thursday, which I have off. I start on Monday at 10:30, finish my first class at 12:30, then have another one starting at 3:30 and finishing at 6pm. It’ll be pointless to go home in the free period between classes so I have no idea what I’m gonna do in that time. Make friends I guess, or get to work on the Rules of the Game missions (modified to suit a female, of course).

We went on a tour of Central TAFE. It boasts a more advanced photography studio than that of Curtin University, but I haven’t seen either of them so I can’t tell. There’s also a gym, a library, canteen, and various other entertainment options. Not to mention its main building is right across the street (like a 20 second walk) from the State Library, which is awesome. Most of my classes are going to be in two nearby buildings. And most of their computer labs run solely on Macs >.< I’ve never actually used a Mac before, but I’ll learn fast. They only have about 2 labs that have PCs. And these Macs were so cool – every single one in the room we visited looked brand spanking new. I don’t know if they actually are or if the cleaners do a really good job :P But I fell in love with the monitors. They were thin and suspended in the air from a movable metal grip behind each one and you can twist each monitor any way you please – upside down, vertically, horizontally, at an angle, put two monitors close together to work on both, etc. It was absolutely awesome.

I can’t wait till Monday now ^_^

Vultures

January 29

I went to Central TAFE today to enroll in my Cert IV Graphic Design course. And holy crap that thing’s expensive. On the offer letter I was sent it said tuition would be $550 maximum, plus possible resouce fees. Well guess what the resource fees are?! About $620!!! The resource fees are higher than the frickin course! That’s per semester. This is ridiculous, but I forced myself not to grumble under my breath when I signed the paperwork. They’re vultures!

TAFE

December 31

My mom wants me to go to TAFE and I think it’s a good idea. I’ll go to TAFE full time and work part time. Ideally, I’d love to be a game designer or do 3D character models for games or something. Unfortunately, everyone keeps drilling it into my head that I’ll never find a job this way – that it’s useless. So I guess I’m going for web and graphic design – and sneaking some animation and 3d modeling in when no one’s looking ;)

I figure I’ll work to get a diploma in graphic arts and a diploma in information technology – software development and programming. Those two could easily go hand in hand in the long run.
