I just got invited to do a couples shoot with two great photographers coming to Perth. They asked if I have a good looking boyfriend who may be interested in doing the shoot, but I doubt HHRay would be interested. It’s an engagement themed shoot and he’d run as soon as I say ‘engagement’, even if it’s just a fake scenario.

I hope he lets me do the shoot with a male model if he doesn’t want to participate. I’ve never done a couples shoot before and it would be a great thing to add to my portfolio. Fingers crossed.

Soap making requires the use of a dangerous ingredient called lye. So yesterday after work I decided to see what store sold lye at the nearby shopping centre. The woman who inspired me to take up cold process soap making at the Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair said that one could buy all of the necessary equipment and ingredients from a supermarket. I don’t know if she was wrong or if the Woolworths employees were just incompetent when I asked them for  help, but the lye was nowhere to be found.

From about 7:30pm tonight:

I’m at the gym, waiting for Boris to finish on the treadmill. Tired. This song always comes on right when I finish my workout, it’s good. November is coming up, meaning NaNoWriMo. I know what I’m going to write, I’ve already started a few snippets here and there. They won’t actually be part of the novel, they’re more like character discovery exercises.

I’ve also decided to take up soap making as a hobby – well, to try it anyway. At the Cockburn Rotary Spring Fair there was a woman with a stall selling hand made soaps of all kinds of shapes, smells, and sizes. It inspired me! She said she’s been making soap for a living for four years and that you can get all the necessary ingredients from your local supermarket and she has learned everything she knows about it from the internet and experimentation!  I bet it would be fun – making soaps as handmade gifts for friends and such. I’d like to try it this weekend.

I had a photoshoot with two awesome photographers in April and have gotten to see the photos today. I must say I’m quite pleased. Here is my favorite of Benlui’s photos. I will post one of Diran’s shots as well when I get a digital image version.

This is my first piece in quite a while. My scanner drivers don’t work with Vista so I had to take a photo of the original sketch with my camera. It’s more of a rough draft than anything, but I like it.
